Logistics and Warm-up timeThe carnival will run from 2:00 - 7:00 pm on Sunday at Knox Swimming Pool, 7 Woodville Avenue, Wahroonga. The pool will open from 1:00 pm with warm-up commencing from 1:15 pm (until approximately 1:45 pm). Parking has known to be a little tricky so please ensure you leave yourself plenty of time. A more detailed program including heat details and approximate timing for each event will be available on the Club Website later this week (latest Friday). Please print this out and bring it with you as printed programs will not be provided on Sunday! Our ask of youTo ensure that the carnival runs smoothly, each family has been allocated two hours of parent volunteering on Sunday. Wherever possible, I’ve tried to ensure that parents’ duties are allocated while your children are swimming – however this was not possible in all cases. Families with more than one child competing have also been allocated two hours of parent volunteering at this stage - but please be aware that you may need to complete an additional hour of duty should extra support be required on the day.
Please be ready for your assigned session as your presence is critical to ensure every swimmer has an opportunity to record an official Qualifying Time (QT).
Please note also that any swimmers who registered manually rather than via Swim Central have not been included in the current parent duty roster. Once I have been provided with these names, these families will be called on as reserves if needed to assist on the day.As always, please reach out to me if you have any major issues with the rostered time. And of course, please let me know if you are willing to take on extra volunteering on the day – the more helpers the merrier!
Lastly, food isn’t available at the pool, so could we please request that each family brings a plate of fruit, cheese & biscuits, cake etc to share to provide some sustenance for our volunteers and swimmers throughout the afternoon.
To be eligible for the Championship members must compete at a minimum of three Saturday morning Club meets in the current season before the event! Members who have not swum the minimum Saturday morning Club meets may swim only to attempt gaining a Qualifying Time.
Club Champion Points are awarded for 1st place (4), 2nd place (3), 3rd place (2) and participation (1).
One (1) point will be deducted if a swimmer does not start an entered race, unless withdrawal is approved at the Meet Directors sole discretion.
Club Champions are announced at the Club's Annual Presentation event.
